Baby Boomers Disconnected With Health Status
Battle Creek, MI — Despite 81 percent of baby boomers saying healthy eating is important, one-third are unaware of how their eating decisions impact their bodies and are generally uninformed about their health, nutrition and fitness, a survey from the Kellogg Co. shows.
Many baby boomers, especially the younger participants, say they are too busy to focus on their health — while 86 percent know their checking account balance, more than half are unfamiliar with their cholesterol levels and body mass index (BMI). Further, 50 percent of those surveyed say a lack of knowledge about health and nutrition is keeping them from leading a healthy, active lifestyle.
