Almost Everyone Shops At C-Stores
New York — Nearly every consumer (94 percent) shops at c-stores while 59 percent shop there more than once a week. Most c-store shoppers (80 percent) live in metro regions of the country, a new Social Science Research Solutions/Imprint Plus survey found.
Of the 1,000 consumers surveyed, 70 percent of 18- to 44-year-olds say they shop at c-stores more than once a week and 25 percent of all participants say they frequent convenience retailers as much as or more than supermarkets or grocery stores. Candy and snacks are the second most purchased items at c-stores behind soda, bottled water and juice, the survey shows.
One-third of consumers say it’s important for convenience channels to carry ethnic products, while that number rose to 41 percent among 18- to 34-year-olds. That demographic also says it’s important for employees to be fluent in another language.
