QR Codes Reveal Source Of Ingredients

Cleveland — A new program that allows manufacturers to trace cooca ingredients back to their smallest detail is available from Cocoa Family.

The transparency program, Transparency, reliability, user-friendliness, single sourced and traceability (T.R.U.S.T.) uses QR codes on packs to identify ingredients, the geographical region where they were sourced, the manufacturing and harvesting dates, lot numbers and other product specifications.

Director of Cocoa Trade Vaagn Arakelyan says: ”It is not enough anymore to just be labeled organic or kosher. We are making sure that our buyers have the knowledge of where and when the cacao ingredients were produced. This assurance of the quality of their ingredients gives peace of mind that they will be able to manufacture their best product.“
