Lindt Sales, Income Up In 2012
Kilchberg, Switzerland — Lindt & Sprungli, Inc.’s net income increased by 10.3 percent in 2012 compared to 2011 and North American sales grew by 10.1 percent, the company reports. Consolidated group sales increased 7.3 percent during the year from 2011.
The company accredits the 60th anniversary Lindt Gold Bunny with its success in North America in addition to the Culinary Institute of America challenge where the Excellence Mocha Coconut bar was made.
“A good sales performance was driven by steady innovation in our year-round business and by numerous new creations for traditional festive occasions, in particular for Easter and Christmas,” Chairman and CEO Ernst Tanner says.
Tanner confirms a target sales growth of six to eight percent in 2013 — partly due to signs of a weakening Swiss franc and the company’s “full pipeline of innovations and marketing measures on our key markets and an intensified presence on new emerging markets.”
