J. Sosnick Gets New Exec

San Francisco — Print Cates is the new vice-president of product development for J. Sosnick & Son, Inc. West Coast candy supplier.

At J. Sosnick, Cates will work with clients and develop merchandising innovations to help increase dollars per square foot. In addition, he will purchase new candy items and attend trade shows.

"I am thrilled to be joining a company that is more than 100 years old," Cates says. "It is a great opportunity to reach out to our existing and new clients and share innovative ways to increase sales."

He previously worked for Powell's Sweet Shoppe USA candy stores, where he was director of franchise operations since 2003 and opened 17 Powell's stores during his tenure.

Prior to his career at Powell's, Cates spent 35 years working in mass, grocery, home improvement and specialty retail environments.
