Bazooka Leverages Celebrity Influence

New York — Bazooka Candy Brands is using Disney Channel star Bella Thorne and musician The Ready Set to market a Facebook campaign that allows consumers to choose the next flavor of Ring Pops.

The company says Thorne and The Ready Set each selected a flavor — Thorne's is strawberry lemonade and The Ready Set chose cookies and cream — and fans can vote for their favorite via the Ring Pop Facebook page up until February 3. Bazooka has pledged to make a donation to the winning celebrity's charity of choice.

The initiative has been re-implemented after using popular teenage musicians last year resulted in major success — the company says the 2012 contest generated 62,000 votes and reached 1.7 million people in four weeks.
