Barry Callebaut Launches Nut Line

Belgium — Barry Callebaut AG has launched a line of high-quality nuts and products containing nuts, according to the company, which says this venture was made possible through its acquisition of Spanish nut producer la Morella nuts this past January.

The line includes freshly roasted nuts, pralines, nougatines, nut pastes, sablages and whole nuts, such as hazelnuts and pistachios, the company reports. It claims the large-scale operation is capable of processing nuts at an extremely fast pace, and therefore offers more freshness than its competitors, with all nuts processed fresh within 24 hours of delivery.

Sofie De Lathouwer, marketing director food manufacturers, says: "The knowledge, expertise and experience built up over decades by la Morella nuts and recently acquired by Barry Callebaut translate into the highest quality nut products for our customers. Thanks to this strategic acquisition, they can now enhance their products even further with the richness, unique character and natural authenticity of flavorsome nuts."
