Confectionery Foundation Supporting Disaster Relief
Washington, DC — The Rockaway Disaster Relief Fund to aid New York recovery efforts has been established by the NCA's Confectionery Foundation.
The Rockaway Peninsula in the Queens borough, which is home to the Madelaine Chocolate Co., experienced water as high as seven feet, washing away homes as fires burned in other portions of the devastated community.
Madelaine President and CEO Jorge Farber will serve as the executor of the fund, the Association reports, adding that his position in the midst of the impacted area gives him a deep understanding of how best to use the donations within local infrastructures.
Donors are urged to contribute before Monday, November 12 and donations can be made at candyusa.com.
