Oberto Launches Bacon Jerky at NACS Show

Las Vegas — Oberto Brands has debuted its bacon jerky meat snack at the National Association of Convenient Stores Show, which runs through October 10.

The company says the product is produced in the U.S. and made using only real strips of bacon, water, sea salt and sugar, and contains no preservatives. The meat is cooked and smoked, and Oberto claims it contains 20 percent less fat than pan-fried bacon.

The product, which will be available in January, has a SRP range of $5.99 to $6.49 and ships eight 2.5-ounce packs per case.

Tom Ennis, CEO of Oberto, says: “Bacon is a high-penetration category with more than half of households reporting that they have bacon in their home 365 days a year, according to research conducted by the National Pork Board. Now, we are giving consumers the opportunity to eat 100 percent real strips of bacon at the office, in the car, out camping or wherever they need a quick, satisfying snack.”
