Cheetos Asks Americans To Choose Next Big Cheese

Plano, TX — Cheetos kicked off its presidential polling promotion with the unveiling of 3-by-4-foot portraits of both presidential nominees made entirely of Cheetos.

The artwork debuted on the Cheetos Facebook page, where the company is asking fans to vote for their favorite candidate until 11 a.m. CT on Tuesday, October 16. Those who vote will have a chance to win the original portrait.

They were crafted from more than 2,000 individual Cheetos snacks, including crunchy, spicy and Natural White Cheddar Cheetos, and took Jason Baalman more than 100 hours to complete. Baalman has previously made Cheeto depictions of Conan O'Brien, Rachael Ray and CeeLo Green.

Ram Krishnan, vice-president of marketing, Frito-Lay North America, says: “During the presidential campaign season, Americans constantly turn to the polls to find out how their favorite candidate is stacking up along the way. We decided to get in on the action by providing our fans with a truly cheesy way to add to the polling data. We know our fans are just as passionate about Cheetos as they are about America, so we can't wait to see who they'd pick as the next Commander in Cheese.”
