Barilla Launches Italian Cookie Line in U.S.

Bannockburn, IL — Barilla G. e R. Fratelli S.p.A. has launched a line of specialty Italian cookies in the U.S. called Mulino Bianco.

The line consists of five varieties: Baiocchi, hazelnut and chocolate cream enclosed in adouble cookies; Cuoricini, small heart shaped cookies with chocolate drops; Galletti, cookies topped with sugar crystals; Girotondi, which are shortbread and cane sugar cookie; and Pan di Stelle, cocoa cookiea with white stars.

The cookies come in 5.29-ounce packs with a SRP of $2.99.

Giannella Alvarez, president of Barilla's Americas Group, says: “The expertise of Barilla reaches far beyond the pasta meal. In Italy, Barilla is the number one brand of pasta and with Mulino Bianco, is the number one brand of cookies and biscuits. We are now excited to share some of these specialty cookies with our consumers in the U.S.”
