World Record Attempt,
Fundraiser Mark Anniversary

Plano, TX — Fritos corn chips’ 80th anniversary is being celebrated with a Guinness World Record attempt and a Wounded Warrior Project fundraiser, Frito-Lay North America, Inc. reports.

The company says it will attempt to build the biggest-ever Fritos Chili Pie, using Fritos, chili and cheddar cheese, on October 1, during the State Fair of Texas. Fair attendees can help with the construction and the finished product will be shared with the public, the company claims.

Additionally, from September 16 through October 13, consumers can use coupons for $1 off the combined purchase of Fritos and Hormel chili from Hormel Foods Corp. The two companies say that for every coupon redeemed they will donate $1 to the Wounded Warrior Project to benefit wounded U.S. Armed Forces personnel.
