Spangler's Kirk Vashaw Named Advocate Of The Year
Washington, DC — Kirk Vashaw, CEO and president of Spangler Candy Co., was honored with the inaugural NCA “Member Advocate of the Year” award during Washington Forum.
Vashaw was recognized for his efforts in persuading members of Congress and other Representatives from Ohio, where Spangler is located, that a reform of the U.S. sugar policy is in order. He claims that the current policy costs his company about $20,000 a day.
As a symbol of appreciation, Vashaw will be given the U.S. flag that was flown over the Capitol on Thursday, September 20, the day he and his industry peers spent lobbying Congress.
