PepsiCo President Named As Flying J Pilot CEO

Knoxville, TN — Pilot Flying J Inc. announces John Compton, president of PepsiCo Inc., as its CEO. Pilot’s former CEO, James Haslam III, has held the position since 1994 and will assume the role of chairman of the company and its recently acquired Maxum Petroleum.

Compton has worked in leadership roles at Frito-Lay, Quaker, Tropicana, and Gatorade. He has been president of PepsiCo since March 2012.

Pilot Flying J and Maxum Petroleum have annual sales of more than $30 billion and employ 25,000 workers. With more than 600 retail locations in the U.S. and Canada, Pilot Flying J says it is the biggest travel center and truck stop company in North America.

Zein Abdalla, CEO of PepsiCo Europe, will assume Compton’s role in the U.S.
