Columbia, MO — Students at the University of Missouri have developed a Mizzou Crunch chocolate bar containing sea salt, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and roasted peanuts. Only 1,000 bars are produced in each handmade batch.

Azlin Mustapha, associate professor of food science, organized the project, and the students worked with Alan “Patric” McClure, creator of Patric Chocolate, LLC, a craft chocolate company from Columbia, MO.

The bar can be purchased through the [1] Patric Chocolate website at $49.99 for a pack of seven. They will be available until at the end of Mizzou's spring semester, Mustapha says.

Proceeds from the purchase will go back to the Mizzou Food Science Program to support future student projects, the company says.

“Hopefully it will be on (Patric's) list of products forever,” Mustapha says. “I think it will be a successful product just because it's so delicious. I'm sure there will be a market for it.”
