Hostess Seeks Union Deals
Irving, TX — The International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) voted to ratify changes to its bargaining agreement with Hostess Brands, Inc. If implemented throughout the company, the agreement will allow Hostess to resume operations.
The company also announced that it intends to file a motion with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in White Plaines, NY, to impose the same changes ratified by the IBT on employees represented by the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers & Grain Millers International Union, which rejected the company's proposal by 92 percent.
Hostess filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January and has been pursuing new collective bargaining agreements with its union employees since that time.
