5-Hour Energy Pursues Hunger-Fighting Bar

New York — Michigan-based Living Essentials LLC, the company that produces 5-Hour Energy, has plans to manufacture a snack bar that postpones hunger for three hours, the company says.

The product is expected to be 95 calories and released at the start of 2013. The company’s chief executive, Manoj Bhargava, declined to disclose the name of the bar.

Bhargava says: “It could flop, but I think it has a pretty good chance of being bigger than 5-Hour Energy.”
