Minneapolis — Supervalu Inc. has restructured its leadership team to meet company goals and drive turnaround, it claims.
Kevin Holt has an expanded role as president of Supervalu Retail, where he will lead overall strategy and oversee marketing and merchandising, the company reports. His previous retail experience includes leadership positions at Kilwin’s Quality Confections, Hudsonville Ice Cream, Sears Holding Co. and Meijer Inc.
Michael Moore, executive vice-president and chief marketing officer, will report to Holt, as will Tim Lowe, who has been promoted to executive vice-president of merchandising. Lowe has 20 years of retail experience, most recently as Supervalu senior vice-president of merchandising and president of the Shoppers division.
Additionally, Janel Haugarth has been named executive vice-president of business optimization and process improvement, where she will focus on enterprise-wide optimization. She has 35 years experience with the company.
Further, logistics and procurement leadership are being consolidated under Fred Boehler, senior vice-president of supply chain.
Wayne Sales, president, CEO and chairman, says: “The changes I have made to my executive team are designed to address two of our most immediate priorities: driving profitable sales in our retail stores and taking costs out of the business.”
