C-Store Channel Growth To Continue
Los Angeles — Revenue for the c-store industry is estimated to increase by 4.9 percent during 2012 and might reach $57 billion, according to market researcher IBISWorld Inc.
However, consolidation is expected to continue, with the number of independent operators anticipated to decline an average of 0.3 percent during the next five years, the researcher reports. Additionally, the channel likely will experience greater competition from other types of retailers seeking convenience-driven consumers.
During the past five years, the channel’s revenue increased at an annual average of 2.8 percent, the researcher says.
