Regulatory Webinar Set For July 26

Washington, DC — Food safety and labeling updates will be discussed by industry experts and NCA representatives during the association’s next webinar, July 26 at noon EST.

Session leaders include Tom Mackie, formerly with Mars, Inc.; Bob Hahn, legal counsel to the NCA; Laura Shumow, the NCA’s director of scientific and regulatory affairs; Zara Khaleeli, the NCA’s manager of science and policy; and Alison Bodor, executive vice-president of the association.

Topics to be discussed include front-of-pack labeling, California’s current GMO labeling rules, what to expect during FDA inspections, recall and crisis management, and third-party certification. A discussion period and question-answer session are planned.

The quarterly webinars are structured to share updates regarding the Food Safety Modernization Act and to provide a peer-to-peer forum on issues facing the industry, Shumow says.
