Lay’s Flavor Contest Debuts In U.S.
Plano, TX — The “Do Us A Flavor” potato chip contest is launching in the U.S. after seeing success in other countries, Frito-Lay North America, Inc. claims.
Frito-Lay explains similar contests in other countries drew winning flavors such as Late Night Kebob, Mastana Mango and Walkie Talkie Chicken.
Through October 6, the company now is asking U.S. consumers to suggest the next Lay’s flavor at facebook.com/lays or by text message for a chance to win $1 million or one percent of the product’s net sales in 2013.
The contest is being promoted through a pop-up store in New York City, and using a national television, online and retail marketing campaign.
The winning flavor will be revealed in May 2013 when the brand’s 75th anniversary is celebrated.
