Bite Sizes More Satisfying

Tempe, AZ — Consuming multiple bite-sized pieces of food is more satisfying than eating the same amount of food served in a single, uncut piece, a recent study reveals.

According to psychology professors at Arizona State University, an increase in portion sizes might lead to increased consumption. For example, study participants who were given a single food item ate more than those who received the same amount of food cut into pieces.

Devina Wadhera, the lead researcher, says: “Cutting up energy-dense meal foods into smaller pieces may be beneficial to dieters who wish to make their meal more satiating while also maintaining portion control.”
