Chocolate Bar Sales To Benefit Bees

Denver — Five percent of profits from new Bee Pollen Chocolate Bars will be donated to bee sustainability efforts, Hammond’s Candies says.

The company estimates it needs 100 bumblebees to land on 1,500 flowers each to provide enough pollen for a single bar. The product is targeted at health-conscious consumers and is available in natural food and specialty retail stores.

The dark chocolate bars are handmade and consist of bee pollen as well as honey, organic vanilla and organic cocoa butter, Hammond’s says.

The product ships 12 2.1-ounce bars per case with a SRP of $3.99.
