C-Stores Raise Money For Troops
Cary, NC — Building on the success of its first Salute Our Troops campaign, c-store chain The Pantry, Inc. is seeking additional donations and support for the USO, Wounded Warrior Project and other military support programs.
Through September 4, the Salute Our Troops Caravan will visit Kangaroo Express stores in 13 states to raise money and offer shoppers the opportunity to be filmed sharing messages of appreciation for members of the armed forces. The caravan also includes custom patriotic show cars by Rev-It-Up for Wounded Warriors.
Sponsors of the event, which in 2011 raised $2.5 million, include Nestlé USA, Inc., Kraft Foods, Inc. and Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co.
John Fisher, senior vice-president of marketing, merchandising and restaurant operations for Kangaroo Express, says: “Salute Our Troops was an overwhelming success last year thanks to the passion and commitment of our employees who brought the campaign to life, rallying communities and the customers we serve to support our military and their families.”
