Brazilian Export Association Refreshes Logo
Cologne, Germany — Signifying a unification of all exporting Brazilian confectionery companies, ABICAB unveiled a new logo with new positioning for its Sweet Brasil program at a press conference it held during ISM.
The new logo, developed in partnership with Apex-Brasil, features a heart shape and the tagline “Sweet Brasil” and “Made from the heart,” which Solange Isidoro, vice-president of exports for the association, said reflects the passion of Brazilians.
“We have been working on this for six months. We have many companies involved in this. Almost all our members who export had some input, and we also got input from branding companies and journalists,” she said.
The new design will likely appear on all packs of exported Brazilian confectionery, Isidoro said. “We have an internal market to develop, and it’s strong enough to support our production, but we want to grow in other markets as well,” she said.
Separately, Isidoro told attendees the value of Brazilian confectionery exports increased by 10.6 percent year-on-year to reach $336 million in 2011.
“It's an exceptional growth rate,” she said, noting some 22 of the trade association’s member companies exported to 145 countries in 2011.
