PMCA Hosting Food Safety Course

Souderton, PA — Registration is now being accepted for a short course on food safety and quality being hosted by Asher’s Chocolates in partnership with the PMCA.
The course, running from Tuesday, April 3 to Thursday, April 5, will touch on topics including risk exposure; quality management systems; document control; food safety and quality, policies and manuals; prerequisite programs; internal auditing; corrective action; HACCP and risk assessment.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a live audit process at Asher’s facility, according to the PMCA. In addition, the Mettler-Toledo International, Inc. product inspection bus will be on hand to give students the chance to interact with the various testing equipment.
Leading the educational program will be David Blomquist, executive technical support specialist, Ecolab Food and Beverage; Roger Bont, global quality assurance director, Cargill, Inc.; Charles Deibel, president of Pine Consulting, Inc.; Tom Mackie, owner of Quality and Food Safety Consulting, LLC; Laura Shumow, NCA director of technical and regulatory affairs; Marlene Stauffer, director of quality assurance/regulatory compliance, Blommer Chocolate Co.; Dan Winter, East Coast territory manager, Neogen Corp.; and Kim Yoder, senior technical services manager, Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate.
