Walmart, Sam's Give Teachers $4.5M

Bentonville, AR — Walmart Stores, Inc. and Sam’s Club are giving 45,000 educators $100 each through the Teacher Rewards program this year, contributing a total of $4.5 million to U.S. schools.

Each DC, Walmart store and Sam's Club location in the U.S. will select a local public school and provide reward cards redeemable for $100 to 10 teachers from that institution.

The program aims to offset costs for teachers, who each spend an estimated $500 of their own money on classroom expenses, including snacks for students who might not have regular access to food, according to Walmart.
