Doritos Super Bowl Contest Adds Pepsi
Plano, TX — Frito-Lay North America, Inc.’s user-generated Crash The Super Bowl ad contest is inviting Doritos consumers to submit their own 30-second commercials for both Doritos and Pepsi Max brands this year.
Each brand will air three ads during the Super Bowl XLV broadcast on February 6, 2011, and consumers can submit entries through November 15.
Partnering with its parent company, PepsiCo, Inc., Frito-Lay launched the program this week with a Los Angeles event that included an appearance by actress Betty White, who will serve as a recruiter for this year’s contest.
In addition to air time, winners can receive cash for their submissions if they score the top spots on USA Today's Super Bowl XLV “Ad Meter,” which tracks responses of a panel of viewers during the broadcast. If the ads score in the top three, Frito-Lay grants the first place winner $2 million, second place $1.6 million and third place $1.4 million.
