Colorado Springs, CO — Diamond Foods, Inc. received a 2010 CPG Award for Innovation and Creativity from the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA).

The awards recognize companies that have made significant contributions to the industry, according to GMA, which says Diamond won for its strategy to engage consumers and respond to customer needs.

Retailers who increased their assortment of Emerald brand nuts grew their category almost twice as fast as retailers that did not, according to GMA. Total distribution for the brand increased by 34 percent, growing sales by 46 percent and increasing category share, the association says.
