Warrell Gains Food Safety Recognition
Camp Hill, PA — The Warrell Corp. has achieved the newly adopted Food Safety Systems Certification (FSSC 22000), which was especially developed for food manufacturers.
The certification scheme is based on the existing internationally recognized ISO 22000 standard and the PAS 220. It considers layouts of buildings, use of air, water and energy, waste disposal, equipment cleaning and maintenance, cross contamination measures, product recall procedures and warehousing, among other standards.
Warrell President Patrick Huffman says: “Warrell’s FSSC 22000 certification further demonstrates our belief that manufacturing safe, quality food is the most important part of every Warrell employee's job, every day.”
Established by the Foundation for Food Safety, the criteria were set in February 2010, and Warrell is said to be among the first to earn the certification.
