Chicago — Candy and snacks were among the top global food and beverage products selected as favorites during taste tests conducted by researcher Mintel International Group Ltd.

Smartfood Popcorn Clusters from Frito-Lay North America, Inc. was ranked first in the Baby Boomers division. Mintel says voters chose the product because it is both indulgent and nutritional, offering added calcium and fiber.

In the satiety category, EcoSlim dark chocolate bars from Portugal-based Nutri Purus LDA were chosen as the top product.

Nearly 700 attendees participated in Mintel's taste tests at the Global New Products Pavilion at the Institute of Food Technologists’ trade show in Chicago.
