Dallas — Thomas Joyce, vice-president of customer and industry affairs for The Hershey Co., will be inducted into the Convenience Industry Hall of Fame at a gala reception and dinner in Dallas on November 16.
“It is an honor to be inducted into the Convenience Industry Hall of Fame," he tells Candy & Snack TODAY. “I am really proud to be able to join Sonja Hubbard as this year’s inductees and to join the other retailers, wholesalers and suppliers who have preceded me in the Hall of Fame. My thanks goes out to The Hershey Co., our convenience store retailers and wholesalers.”
A 40-member panel of industry peers and past inductees selected Joyce for induction into the Supplier wing.
In his 34 years at Hershey, Joyce has served in many roles, including director, division manager and regional broker network manager and he has received the company's President's Cup Sales Achievement Award. Joyce serves on the NCA Executive Board, as well as the supplier board of the National Association for Convenience Stores, the Board of Directors of the American Wholesale Marketers Association, and the Retail Advisory Board of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores.
Joyce also participates in trade committees for both the Food Marketing Institute and the Grocery Manufacturers of America. In 2003, he was inducted into Candy Hall of Fame, which is administered by the National Confectionery Sales Association.
He will be honored alongside Sonja Hubbard, CEO of E-Z Mart Stores, Inc., and joins past supplier honorees including Joe Burke, of Coca-Cola Co., and Steve Wolke, of PepsiCo, Inc.
