Category Leaders Make Power Players List
New York — Candy and snack retailers and suppliers have a strong showing in the top 50 Power Players list for 2010 from Supermarket News, which highlights leaders who are reinvesting in their companies to spur growth.
Top manufacturers on the list include Nestlé S.A.'s CEO, Paul Bulcke; Robert A. McDonald, chairman, president and CEO of Procter & Gamble Co.; Indra Nooyi, chairman and CEO of PepsiCo, Inc.; and Irene Rosenfeld, chairman and CEO of Kraft Foods, Inc. Kellogg Co. President and CEO David Mackay and The Hershey Co.’s David J. West, president and CEO, also made Supermarket News’ list.
Mike Duke, president and CEO of Walmart Stores, Inc., was first on the list of retailers, followed by Steve Burd, chairman, president and CEO of Safeway, Inc., and David Dillon, chairman and CEO of Kroger Co. Retail industry leaders such as Matt Shay, president and CEO, National Retail Federation, are also featured on the list.
