Walmart Names U.S. CEO

Bentonville, AR — Bill Simon has been promoted to president and CEO of Walmart Stores, Inc. U.S.

He is now responsible for increasing customer traffic, ensuring a relevant product assortment and partnering with suppliers to build on current strategy, according to the company.

Previously, Simon, 50, served as Walmart's senior vice-president of global business development and was responsible for the growth of the company's restaurant portfolio outside the U.S.
