Walgreens Sales Jump 8.4 Percent
Deerfield, IL — Walgreen Co. registered sales gains of 8.4 percent for the month of June to total $5.67 billion. The company says its Duane Reade stores contributed three percentage points to the increase.
Front-end sales for the period increased 10.9 percent while traffic in June was said to be up two percent, with basket size growing 0.2 percent.
Walgreens opened 24 stores during the month of June, acquired one and closed one.
