Retail Brands Focus On Value

Boston — Value remains critical in retail brands, with shoppers ranking Walmart Stores, Inc. as the most valuable global retail brand in a study from Kantar Retail and BrandZ.

Walmart placed above Amazon.com, Inc., Tesco plc in the UK, Carrefour SA, Target Corp. and ebay, Inc. in the worldwide study. The researcher concludes brands that combine value with emotion-based connections to consumers perform well, and brands will continue to be built on retailers’ knowledge of shopping behavior.

In addition, the survey showed mobile commerce will continue to influence consumers’ purchasing habits, and store brands should participate in digital conversations about shopping, according to the company.
