Kraft Exceeds Waste-Reduction Goals
Northfield, IL — Kraft Foods, Inc. has reduced net waste from manufacturing plants by 30 percent since 2005, exceeding its goal of 15 percent by 2011, according to the company.
Kraft says it now reuses or recycles 90 percent of its manufacturing waste, with nine of the company’s facilities sending no waste to landfills. The zero-waste facilities include three Canadian plants, five U.S. plants and a U.S. distribution center.
