Frito Snacks Drive Pepsi's Gains

Purchase, NY — PepsiCo, Inc., parent company to Frito-Lay North America, Inc., posted solid second quarter results and attributed much of the growth to strong global snack sales.

Operating profit gained from increased salty snack dollar share in measured channels and unit growth was also up in single digits, according to the company, pointing to improved trending in convenience and gas stores and its food service vending accounts.

Quaker Foods North America posted declines in volume, but the company says it is refocusing its flagship health and wellness brand to expand its global “Good for You” portfolio of products.

Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi says: “Our results reflect our ability to generate sustainable growth across a global snack and beverage portfolio despite continued macroeconomic challenges.”
