Sorbee Launches Country Time Candy

Los Angeles, CA — Country Time Lemonade Hard Candy, made with sugar, is new from Sorbee International, LLC.

The sugar-sweetened hard candies come in original Lemonade and an assortment of Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Peach Lemonade and Raspberry Lemonade. Laydown bags hold 14 ounces with wrappers featuring the Country Time logo, according to Barry Sokol, executive vice-president.

“This is the first sugar-based candy we’ve ever offered,” he says, explaining Sorbee offers a full range of sugarfree chewy and hard candies. “The sugarfree market is still fairly small, so it makes a lot of sense for Sorbee to focus on licenses, expand our product portfolio and grow the company.”

He explains that licensing helps to bring incremental sales to the category, as consumers who are fans of the powdered drink mix will be drawn the candy aisle. To promote the items, the company is launching a marketing, public relations and social media campaign, Sokol says.

The candies are fat- and gluten-free, according to the company. Bags have a SRP range of $2.79 to $3.49 and ship 12 per case.
