July Cocoa Prices Jump

New York — Cocoa prices for July delivery are up $73 to total $3,032 per metric ton, having risen 4.2 percent this week on news of rainy weather in the Cote d’Ivoire that might affect production.,/p>

Sources also report 18,000 tons of cocoa arrived in the past week at the country’s two primary ports, representing an 11,000-ton increase from the same week in 2009.
