Mood, Weather Factors In Chocolate Buying
Stratham, NH — Three out of five U.S. consumers choose chocolate based on their mood, occasion, time of day and weather, according to a survey.
Of the 1,000 shoppers Lindt & Sprüngli (USA), Inc. surveyed, 61 percent of participants say time of day, occasion and weather are a factor when choosing chocolate, and 46 percent choose chocolate based on their mood.
When seeking an escape, 55 percent of shoppers select milk chocolate, 44 percent buy any type of chocolate with nuts, 36 percent pick dark chocolate and 23 percent seek out white chocolate, according to the survey.
