East Hanover, NJ — The Triscuit Home Farming movement aims to establish 50 community-based home farms across the U.S. in 2010 and encourage consumers to start their own gardens.
Specially marked packs of Original and Reduced Fat Triscuit crackers will include basil and dill seeds, as well as instructions on starting a garden, according to Kraft Foods, Inc.
A recent Triscuit brand survey of 1,018 U.S. adults found nearly two-thirds were interested in growing food in backyard gardens.
During a groundbreaking ceremony today, Kraft will unveil its first community farm in Los Angeles. The company has partnered with Urban Farming, a nonprofit organization, to continue developing farms throughout the year. More information is available at triscuit.com/homefarming.
