Four Confection Trends Growing In U.S.

New York — Four consumer trends are predicted to remain strong in the confectionery market, according to a report from the Center for Culinary Development (CCD).

Nostalgia is expected to appeal to U.S. consumers seeking comfort in familiar childhood treats, though offerings should reflect current interests in bold flavor profiles and high-quality ingredients, the report predicts.

Another trend, indulgence, is likely to provide affordable escape and reward for U.S. consumers.

Hand-made artisan sweets with well-chosen, local and sustainable ingredients are also anticipated to grow.

In addition, the report sees exotic flavors from across the globe gaining ground with consumers across shopper demographics.
