Divine To Use Sierra Leone Fair Trade Cocoa

Washington, DC — Divine Chocolate Ltd. will use Sierra Leone Fair Trade Certified chocolate in all of its products following quality improvements.

The company says partnerships between members of Kpeya Agricultural Enterprise (KAE), Sierra Leone’s only Fair Trade Certified cooperative, and NGOs Twin and German Agro Action means the cocoa is now good enough to be used for its premium chocolate.

KAE farmers have been learning how to grow better crops, export their own cocoa, improve the quality of beans through more careful fermentation and drying, and how to do their own quality checks, according to Divine.
