Cocoa Production Expected To Rise

London — The 2010 cocoa forecast for world production is 3,597 thousand metric tons, a one percent increase compared with the prior year, according to the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO).

In 2009, world production reached 3,560 thousand metric tons, which the ICCO reports exceeded its initial estimates. World grindings for 2010 are expected to total 3,579 thousand metric tons, up 2.5 percent compared with 3,492 thousand the previous year.
