Limited Snickers, Twix Items Debut

Hackettstown, NJ — Two limited edition chocolate bars will be available in 2010 from Mars Chocolate North America.

Based on positive consumer feedback, the company is re-introducing Snickers Xtreme, made with peanuts and caramel covered in milk chocolate and five grams of protein per bar. The candy had a limited release in 2007.

Available for order now and on shelves by September, 1.82-ounce Snickers Xtreme bars have a SRP of 89 cents. Counter units hold 72 bars and ship three per case while Snickers mixed singles shippers are 240-ct and hold 96 Xtreme bars and 144 regular Snickers.

Also from the company, new Twix Triple Chocolate cookie bars feature chocolate cookie and chocolate caramel covered in milk chocolate. Single packs of two bars each have a SRP of 89 cents and are expected at retail in March.

Packs are 1.79 ounces and ship in 36-ct cases, 72-ct counter units and 216-ct mixed floorstands with 144 Triple Chocolate Twix and 72 regular Twix Caramel cookie bars.
