Atkinson Wins With Cage Fight Champion

Lufkin, TX — Chick-O-Sticks scored national TV exposure on Saturday night when Atkinson Candy Co. sponsored cage fighter Jessica Eye.

Eye won the first-ever Women’s National Title at a NAAFS event in Akron, OH. Undefeated in her amateur career, Eye dominated the three-round match.

“We’re delighted to support such a powerful and athletic champion,” says Eric Atkinson, president of Atkinson Candy Co. “Jessica loves Chick-O-Sticks, which proves that candy can be part of a healthy diet.”

Eye, who is also a nutritionist, won the bout after training six days per week for three hours at a time. She says Chick-O-Sticks are her favorite candy in part because they bring her glycogen levels up after an intense workout.

She fights out of Strong Style Mixed Martial Arts & Fitness Center in Independence, OH, and ranks first in the 2009 National Amateur Series Women’s Division.
