Just Born To Open Central DC
Bethlehem, PA — Less than a two-hour drive to both New York City and Philadelphia, Just Born Inc.'s new 600,710 square foot distribution center (DC) in Lehigh Valley, PA — operational by the end of 2009 — will serve as the primary, central hub for all the company's products.
More than accessibility, says Matt Petrino, executive vice-president and COO, it represents an environmentally conscious move for the company as well. Having a central DC closer to its manufacturing facility in Bethlehem, the company will eliminate more than 500,000 truck miles from Pennsylvania roads, according to Petrino.
Global logistics provider OHL will manage the warehousing and transportation programs for the company. Just Born will renovate and upgrade an existing space in Lehigh Valley to a Food Grade, FDA-certified facility and pursue Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
