ALL CANDY EXPO Product Introductions (Part 1)
The 2009 ALL CANDY EXPO was the launching pad for more than 1,000 new products in all candy and snack sectors. Candy & Snack TODAY gives vital details on many of the items that made their debut at the show.

Ferrara Pan Candy Co., Inc.
Ferrara Pan Candy Co., Inc. introduced Black Forest brand Juicy Oozers Sour Fun Fish gummies. Liquid-filled and sanded with sour powder, the Twisted Triple Berry, Screamin' Strawberry Kiwi, Tangy Tangerine and Wacky Watermelon candies are made with fruit juice — offering 10 percent of the RDA of vitamin C per serving, according to the company. Four-ounce peg bags are available in 12-ct cases.
The company also launched Ferrara brand premium chocolates in two-pack gift boxes with one box each of European-inspired Indulgent Milk Chocolate Almonds and Tantalizing Mixed Nuts. Kosher-certified the packs hold 9.75 ounces, have a SRP of $7.99 and ship six per case.
Ferrara Premium Chocolate Balls debuted in three varieties, milk and dark chocolate infused with orange and milk chocolate with butter toffee crunch. The break-apart balls are 6.17 ounces and kosher-certified. With a SRP of $3.59, they ship in six-ct cases, 12-ct display trays and 64-ct shippers.

Mars Snackfood US
Two limited-edition items are new from Mars Snackfood US. Snickers Fudge features a peanut-packed chocolate fudge layer atop peanut butter nougat covered in milk chocolate. Kosher-certified, 1.78-ounce bars have a SRP of 74 cents and ship three 72-ct displays per case, as well as in 216-ct floor stands with 144 fudge and 72 original Snickers bars. Miniature bars pack in 10.5-ounce bags, shipping 32 per case. M&M's Coconut Chocolate Candies have packaging with island-themed graphics. Singles hold 1.5 ounces, have a SRP of 79 cents and ship in 192-ct assorted shippers with 96 coconut, 48 milk and 48 peanut, as well as in 96-ct single-flavor counter units. Also offered are 11.8-ounce bags with a SRP of $3.49. They ship in 36-ct display cases and 288-ct mixed pallets with 108 coconut, 72 peanut and 36 each of peanut, milk and dark.
Milk chocolate with peanut butter Dove Promises launched in 8.5-ounce laydown bags with a SRP of $4.49. They are also available in 1.3-ounce bars with a SRP of 79 cents.
The M&M's Premiums Chocolate Candies line was extended with the debut of Petite Reclosable Cartons. Triple Chocolate and new Dark Chocolate come in the 1.2-ounce boxes, which have a SRP of $1.29. Nine-ct trays ship three per case and in 120-ct floor stands, while 60-ct powerwings pack two per case.
Fling Chocolate Fingers have a truffle filling atop a layer of crisp meringue, all enrobed in chocolate. Released in limited distribution for 2009, the bars come in three flavors — milk chocolate, dark chocolate and hazelnut, and each piece has less than 85 calories. They come in two-piece 1.11-ounce singles with a SRP of 79 cents and individually wrapped in 10-piece boxes with a SRP of $3.39.

Jelly Belly Candy Co.
Jelly Belly Candy Co.'s new acai berry, Barbados cherry, cranberry, blueberry and pomegranate Superfruit Mix of Jelly Belly beans are made with natural flavors, real juices and colors derived from natural sources, the company reports. The beans are dairy-, gluten- and gelatin-free and certified kosher, offering 25 percent of the RDA of vitamin C, according to the company. They pack in three- and six-ounce bags, both shipping in 12-ct cases.

Dayton Nut Specialties
Friesinger's, a Dayton Nut Specialties company, unveiled red, white and green Maria's Coco Especial brand Coconut Slices. In addition, the company added Tropical Treat Coconut Bars with berry, banana and chocolate layered in each bar. The kosher-certified 1.65-ounce bars have bi-lingual packaging and a SRP range of 79 to 89 cents. They ship eight 24-ct displays per case.

Kraft Foods International
Kraft Foods International revealed Toblerone Fruit & Nut Bars, bringing together the brand's Swiss milk chocolate, honey and almond nougat, with raisins. Carrying a SRP of $1.99, 3.52-ounce bars have the traditional pyramid shape and ship six 12-ct displays per case and in 48-ct assorted floor displays.
Terry's Chocolate Orange Toffee Crunch was released with a SRP of $3.99. The orange-flavored milk chocolate with toffee bits balls are six ounces and individually boxed.
